Kerry Morton is a practitioner of Oriental Medicine who is licensed in the state of Oregon.  She received her Masters of Oriental Medicine degree in 2010 and her Doctorate in 2016, from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, located in Portland, Oregon.  During her studies she traveled to Nanjing, China and studied in two hospitals, observing herbal medicine (internal medicine) for gynecology, pediatric Tuina, and acupuncture with Dr. Wang, “flying needle”, who treated patients of all ages and conditions from a broken ankle to post-stroke treatment.  She had the opportunity to see how this medicine is practiced in China, which is integrated with Western Medicine.  This is the model that she would like to advocate in the United States.

Kerry is one of the few to have earned the distinguished degree of  Doctorate of Oriental Medicine in the nation. The program specialized in Gynecology and Geriatric Medicine.  In June/July 2014, she traveled to Hangzhou, China, where she observed in the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  She observed herbal medicine in Neurology, Pediatrics, Oncology, and Orthopedics.  She also learned Turtle abdominal acupuncture from Dr.Lihua Xuan.

cuppingShe has worked for seven years with a chiropractor, first as a licensed massage therapist and then as a licensed acupuncturist. She believed that she had much to offer the community and so she ventured on her own and opened Sanzen Acupuncture in April of 2015. She has a great deal of experience treating musculoskeletal injuries like joint/back pain and sciatica.  She has also had success with Chinese Herbal Medicine treating high blood pressure, chronic constipation, among many other conditions.  She practices Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which includes acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Tuina massage, and cupping therapy.  TCM sees the patient as and individual and  we use different diagnostic techniques, including taking the pulse and looking at the tongue, to see what is out of balance in the patient and we then use the techniques mentioned above to re-establish balance in the patient’s body to relieve their symptoms.

In her spare time, Kerry likes to spend time with her family, including her and cats and Pembroke Welsh Corgi Ruby, and going hiking to connect with nature and recharge.
